Bowls Wellington Club of the Year 2025 - 2026
Good people, great vibes, come for the bowls and stay for the company.
We are a community-based club located in the Porirua suburb of Whitby with approximately 116 members including around 60 active playing members.
We proudly celebrated our 50th jubilee in Novembers 2025 and provide a high quality outdoor natural green which was resurfaced in 2024. Our large and bright club rooms open up onto a wonderful semi covered wooden deck creating a welcoming space for members and visitors alike.
Our club is guided by values of inclusion, respect, sportsmanship, nurturing friendships and we are proud to say we are run entirely by volunteers who contribute their time, skills and energy to keep the club operating smoothly.
Play At Your Pace
Go all-in and play competitively or keep it casual and social. You choose the pace, we’re here for all of it. If you are new to the sport we will show you how to play. Just bring yourself, flat soled shoes and we will take care of the rest.
Our season runs from mid- September through to early May with a programme that caters for the competitive bowler through to those who are looking for a more social vibe. We host regular competitions and events which are well supported by clubs across the Bowls Wellington region. We also run two four-week Twilight Community Bowls series each year which consistently attract participants from both the local and wider community.
If bowling is not your thing we have a large number of social members who enjoy being part of the club and our weekly Friday social gathering for all members helps foster connections, belonging and year-round engagement.
