Club Competitions
Many competitions take place throughout the season and the full list can be found on the club programme. Some are open to full playing members, others also to limited playing members and some are restricted to 1 – 5 year full playing junior members.
To enter into Club Championships you need to be a full playing member. The winning team will represent our club at the Bowls Wellington Champ of Champ and that winning team will represent the region in the National Champ of Champ event.
Some members belong to more than one club. Players are not permitted to enter any Whitby Championship event if they have played in the same event at another club in the same playing season.
To enter into the Junior Singles Club Championship you need to be a bowler who has been a member of a bowling club for 5 seasons or less, including the current season.
Our club uniform is worn at club championship events.
During the season we run a number of competitions that both full and limited playing members can enter. Limited playing members can also play in our galas and on roll up days.
Entering Club Competitions
Competitions will be advertised at least three weeks before the closing date on the club notice board, promoted via the club’s WhatsApp messaging app, emailed to all eligible members, and included in our weekly newsletter.
Entries will be sought for events and this will sometimes involve forming a team. Members who wish to play and are not in a team can put their names on the entry form indicating they are ‘wanting a game’. Members can also talk to our club captain, coaches or match committee and we will do our upmost to ensure as many members get the opportunity to participate.
After the closing date the match committee will collate the entries, complete and publish the draw. Conditions of play will also be outlined on the draw.
